In these instructions I show the original (white) Samsung Gear VR viewer with my magnetic attachment system. However, the steps shown here are essentially the same for both the white and blue viewers and my other mounting options. |
1) Remove the viewer with the clips from the headmounted frame assembly. |
2) Possibly bend back the magnet surface to allow easier access to the clip tabs. |
3) With a small screwdriver, or similar tool, pry open the clip tab to loosen the attachment between the clip and the viewer. Pliers might also be useful to continue loosening and shaping the tab. Then remove the tab from the viewer. |
4) Snap the original plactic clips back over the posts. Note that this step is not required for the newer (dark blue) viewer since those mounting clips were not removed during installation. |
5) Re-thread the original elastic straps and adjust for size with their velcro strips. |
6) Finaly, re-attach the original face cushion that was provided by Samsung. Note that if you cut out the center section of the cushion during installation it will be necessary to obtain a replacement cushion from Samsung or a third party. |
