This procedure includes two sections: 1) How to install the "Oculus 360 photos" app on your Samsung cell phone and 2) How to view "Oculus 360 photos" with the Samsung Gear VR
How to install the "Oculus 360 photos" app on your cell phone
1) Before you put your phone into the Gear VR viewer, locate and run the "Oculus" app on the cell phone.
2) The Oculus app has two modes, "Library" mode and "Store" mode. If the app comes up in Library mode, as shown on the right, perform steps 3 and 4 to switch to Store mode. If the app comes up in Store mode skip to step 5.
3) To switch modes tap the three lines in the upper left corner to bring up the Library/Store menu.
4) Then tap the "Store" option on the Library/Store menu.
5) When the "Store" menu opens, tap the magnifying glass icon to perform a search.
6) Type "360 photos" into the search field to locate the "Oculus 360 photos" application.
7) Install the (free) Oculus 360 photos application. It should now appear as an option on the Oculus Home screen when the phone is operating with the Gear VR.
How to view "Oculus 360 photos" with the Samsung Gear VR
1) Once the "Oculus 360 photos" app is installed it may appear on the Oculus Home screen menu. If so, move your head to position the "pipper" over the 360 photos image and then tap the Gear VR's touch pad to select it.
2) If the "Oculus 360 photos" app does not appear on the Oculus Home screen menu, you should position the pipper on the "Library" option and then tap the Gear VR's touch pad to select it. Scroll up and down with the touch pad and find the "Oculus 360 photos" app then position the pipper on the app and tap the touch pad.
3) The home screen of the "Oculus 360 photos" app displays some instructions and some catagories of images that are available for viewing. I am very fond of the "Ancient Egypt" photos.
4) Use the touch pad to scroll through the various photos.
